A Clue Saga

INT. TRAIN - late afternoon
DR. WALTER RAVEN pushes his great, enormous frame through the narrow door of the first class train's private compartment. With a small bit of effort he manages to turn his body sideways and slide past the gripping velvet-covered curtain-frame. He wipes the perspirations from his brow with a handkerchief as he chooses which side of the compartment to sit. As DR. RAVEN settles down he checks his pocket watch - 2:50pm.
A train ATTENDANT pulls back the velour drape and pokes her head into the compartment. She places a menu down on the small pull-out table.
ATTENDANT
"Hi, my name is Candice, but you can call me Candi. I'll be taking care of you today. It looks like you called in ahead and requested food as soon as possible."
DR. RAVEN withdraws a bottle of medication from his breast pocket.
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"Yes, I have to have a little something to eat with my heart medication. I hope it isn't a bother."
ATTENDANT
"It's no problem at all, Dr. Raven. We do whatever we can to accommodate all of our guests."
DR. RAVEN sets the bottle of medication on the table.
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"Well, for starters I'll take a glass of water to wash these pills down."
2.
ATTENDANT
(smiling)
"Of course, let me get that for you right away.
DR. RAVEN holds up his hand.
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"No need to waste any time. I'll put in my breakfast order before you go."
ATTENDANT
"Breakfast? It's nearly three in the afternoon."
DR. RAVEN looks over the breakfast section of the menu.
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"I'll take the cheesy-bacon grits, toast with blackberry jam, I want five fried eggs - runny centers, hash-browns burnt on the bottom, six or seven sausage links, if there is fresh fruit only give me the peaches and pears, I'll take a small bit of bread pudding, and does the casserole use tomatoes?"
ATTENDANT
"It has cherry tomatoes."
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"Take those off and fill the space with more cheese. I'll have two slices."
ATTENDANT
"Do you need anything else?"
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"I'll take that water now."
DR. RAVEN looks out the window as the ATTENDANT leaves the private compartment. He watches as a bickering group of old ladies are separated by security on the train platform.
DR. RAVEN looks at the empty seat across from him and puts his feet up on the cushions. His mind begins to drift.
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"Olivia'll be fine. She knows how to keep her mouth shut."

INT. PRATTON POLICE DEPARTMENT - HOLDING CELLS - CONTINUOUS
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN sits on the edge of her bed staring up at the high, narrow, barred window near the ceiling. Sunbeams come through the bushes around the exterior of the POLICE STATION. The sunbeams meet with the unsettled dust and filth that circulates the air of the dank holding cells.
A crusty, weathered, drunk OLD MAN leans against the bars of his cell, staring directly at OLIVIA.
OLD mAN
"You ain't gonna last in the big house, Missy."
OLIVIA turns her red, puffy eyes from the window to the OLD MAN who appears to be taking to her.
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
(confused)
"What?"
OLD MAN
"All this cryin' and snifflin'. The big ladies at the prison are gonna eat you up... or force you to eat them up. If you know what I mean."
The OLD MAN sticks out his tongue and holds up two fingers to his mouth.
OLIVIA turns her eyes away from the crass hand-gesture. She grips the edge of her mattress tightly. She closes her eyes and begins to breathe slowly, calming herself down.
OLD MAN
"Is it true what they're saying? That you went on a killing spree at Blood Manor?"
OLIVIA turns her head and faces the OLD MAN again.
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
"Blood Manor?"
4.
OLD MAN
"That's what everyone at the pub calls that mansion. Used to call it that twenty or so years ago when the blood ran like water, but they've stayed quiet for so long. Knew it wouldn't be long before bodies started piling."
OLIVIA looks over at the cell guard who is oblivious to the two of them talking.
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
"I didn't kill anyone. I'm being set up so the real killer can keep piling those bodies."
OLD MAN
"You don't have to put up an act for me."
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
"I'm not putting up an act. I'm genuinely concerned that I'm going to be put away for the rest of my life for something I didn't do. I... There... It's..."
OLIVIA stands up from her bed frustrated.
The OLD MAN begins to laugh.
OLD MAN
"That's right, sweetie. Let it all out. Tell old Hector what you did that night."
OLIVIA runs her fingers through her hair.
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
"You know what, Hector? I'll tell you the mistake I made. I left my life in New York City to come to this cow-shit town on a one-off chance to embarrass and get revenge on the woman who took away the man I love."
OLD MAN
"I think there's way more to that. You wanted the bitch dead."
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
"So what if I did?"
5.
OLD MAN
"Well there you go. That's why you're in here."
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
(annoyed)
"That's why I'm in here? Did I kill her? No! I didn't hurt anyone. My lack of friendliness with everyone and the fact that I don't take sides and kisses asses put me in here."
OLD MAN
"You wanted the other woman dead. You were probably vocal about it too."
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
"Vocal? I only ever told my father my true feelings."
OLD MAN
"Family should be the last to know your secret feelings. They are always the first to tell people."
MRS. OLIVIA RAVEN-GREEN
"If you are so wise and mighty, how did you end up behind bars?"
The OLD MAN smacks the jail bars and calls for the security guard.
OLD MAN
"Hank!"
The security guard walks over and unlocks the cell door.
The OLD MAN leaves his cell and walks up close to OLIVIA's door.
OLD MAN
"I'm in here because I was hired to size you up before the trial. This is going to be a walk through the meadow."
OLIVIA shrinks back against the wall of her cell.
OLD MAN
"Never trust anyone, Olivia. Not friends, not family, and especially not strangers you meet in jail."

INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - BILLIARD ROOM - conTINUOUS
The clock in the BILLIARD ROOM strikes three, chiming loudly for all to hear. MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK sits down on the leather sofa with her foot up and a cocktail in her hand. The bottle of pain pills sits comfortably against MRS. PEACOCK's left leg. MISS AMELIA PEACH leans over the pool table and takes the triangle off of the racked balls.
MISS PEACH takes a couple practice shots against the bumpers with the cue ball. MRS. PEACOCK smiles as she sips down the rest of her cocktail.
MRS. PAtrICIA PEACOCK
"I still feel awful, in spite of this delicious drink."
MISS PEACH giggles lightly.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"It's the only drink I know how to make."
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"And you make them strong. Mamma is proud."
MISS PEACH smiles from ear to ear as she breaks the triangle. The sound of balls clacking into each other fills the room.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"You alright, dear? You seem unusually quiet."
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"You said you're worried about Vivienne earlier. I was just thinking..."
MRS. PEACOCK sets the empty cocktail glass down on the side table.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Thinking about what?"
7.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Well, from what you've told me, Vivienne is a lonely girl with no solid friends."
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Yes, well. Perhaps I shared a little too freely... or maybe not enough. She's never had a friend she could keep. Boys came in and out of her life as long as I've known her. She's definitely never had a girl friend."
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Maybe that's the thing. Girl friends fight and argue about petty things. I think what Vivienne needs is a sister."
MISS PEACH holds out her arms and smiles.
MRS. PEACOCK begins to laugh as if she's just heard the funniest joke of the year. She doubles over, holding her sides as her laughing begins to die down. She wipes away a small tear from her watery eyes.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
(still laughing)
"Oh, darling, that's rich. You have to say that again over dinner. Everyone is going to die of laughter. I wouldn't be surprised if Colonel Mustard or Madame Rose choked on a fishbone."
MISS PEACH isn't sure what is so funny.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"I'm not sure I get it."
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Face it, the only one Vivienne cares about is Vivienne. She doesn't need a sister. If she had one, all she ever would have done is fought and bickered day in and day out. You don't want to put that on yourself."
8.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"I think you're wrong. I think Vivienne is the way she is because she was alone. Everyone needs a sister."
MRS. PEACOCK picks up her empty cocktail glass and tries to sip the residue at the bottom.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Well, best of luck to you. I would not try reaching out to her, especially when she's emotional. Vivienne only cares about herself and making herself feel better about herself. She's probably up there combing her hair and staring at her reflection like the vain goddess she pretends she is."
(holding up the glass)
"Can you make Mamma another one of those drinks. What do you call it again?"
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"It's called the deadly nightshade, and you probably shouldn't have another one. You've taken a lot of pain pills... for a sprained ankle."
MRS. PEACOCK furrows her brow.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Yes, well. We all handle pain differently. You'll learn that if you go up and see your darling 'sister'."
MISS PEACH blinks slowly and turns around to leave.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"I'm going to go check on her. I hope you're wrong, Patricia. I really hope it's just the pills talking."
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"It's not. I only put up my appearances until the mold starts to come through. The mold is out and the walls are cracking. No more room for pretending."

EXT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - GRAVEYARD - LATE AFTERNOON
The sky feels greyer and heavier around the graveyard. Two freshly set marble obelisks have been placed. Inscribed on the left: Yvette Leanna Ardoise b.1913-d.1932. Inscribed on the right: Olga Gisela Bloom b.1876-d.1932. REVEREND HOSEA GREEN stands at a rough, handmade pulpit for services and memorials. His Bible is open to the book of Wisdom. MRS. CHRISTA SLATE-GREY stands off to the side near a dead tree. COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD, MR. RUSTY NAYLOR, MRS. BLANCHE WHITE, MR. REGINALD ASH, and SIR BENDICT BLACK are present.
‌REVEREND HOSEA GREEN
(reading from the Bible)
"The righteous one, though she die early, shall be at rest. For the age that is honorable comes not with the passing of time, nor can it be measured in terms of years."
COL. MUSTARD looks up at the tops of the trees begin to sway and dance in the wind.
RUSTY keeps his watery, sad eyes fixed on Yvette's memorial.
REVEREND HOSEA GREEN
"Rather, understanding passes for gray hair, and an unsullied life is the attainment of old age."
MRS. WHITE sighs deeply, her mind wandering as her eyes meet the door of the CRYPT.
SIR BENEDICT stands up from his wheelchair, putting all his weight onto his cane. He bows his head in reverence. \
MR. ASH stands behind SIR BENEDICT, ready to help him back to his wheelchair if needed.
10.
‌REVEREND HOSEA GREEN
"The one who pleased God was loved, living among sinners, was transported — snatched away, lest wickedness pervert her mind or deceit beguile her soul; for the witchery of paltry things obscures what is right and the whirl of desire transforms the innocent mind."
EXT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - WOODS - CONTINUOUS
ADMIRAL KLAUS BLOOM stands in the brush and thicket at the edge of the WOODS. He watches the memorial service from a safe distance. His eyes are red as if he has been crying. He pulls his fingers stressfully through his coarse, curly beard. The croaking of frogs and the buzzing of insects from the nearby LAKE drown out any speaking from REV. GREEN.
ADM. BLOOM lets out a small sigh as he looks at a small picture of himself and OLGA.‌ The picture shows two chubby red-headed children sitting on the front porch of a German sausage shop. An equally chubby dog sits between the children.
From behind ADM. BLOOM, a wrinkled, old hand creeps up over his shoulder.
ADM. BLOOM gasps in fright as he spins around to see who is behind him.
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY, the long-thought dead sister of HUGH BLACK; mother of JOHN BODDY and BRENDA DOVE, stands in on the property edge of her childhood home. She is dressed immaculately in back chiffon ruffle lace with furs around her shoulders. Long glistening earrings dangle from her lobes. She places a long, boney finger to her lips, instructing ADM. BLOOM to stay quiet.
11.
ADMIRAL KLAUS BLOOM
"What are you doing here, Miss Black? You need to get back to Sun Haven. His Highness will not be happy you keep going rogue and returning here."
MRS. BLACK-BODDY moves like a snake as she circles around ADM. BLOOM.
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY
"He won't be happy? Well, we cannot have that."
(pausing)
"Can we?"
ADMIRAL KLAUS BLOOM
"No, ma'am. I'm under Prince Azure's direct orders to bring you back."
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY
(calmly)
"Direct orders? I have been strolling the woods, lake, and pastures for days now. You showed up on the same afternoon they are burying your fat sister. I am sorry if you see my skepticism, but you know more than anyone that I do not take orders. Prince Azure himself cannot make me do anything. Do you really think I'm going to listen to the blue soldier?"
ADMIRAL KLAUS BLOOM
"Would you prefer he send the red soldier?"
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY
"Tell Commander Saffron that if he wants to loose his head over this, he is more than welcome to.
12.
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY (CONT'D)
But more importantly, do you want to loose your head over this Klaus?"
ADM. BLOOM says nothing.
ADMIRAL KLAUS BLOOM
"I have to report back to him. If I don't bring you..."
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY
"You will tell Philippe that I am handling things at my own pace. He is not required to babysit me or keep me occupied with his gorgeous body any longer."
ADMIRAL KLAUS BLOOM
"You're breaking up with him? I can't be the one to deliver that message."
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY
"Oh yes you can. And you will."
ADMIRAL KLAUS BLOOM
"Everything he's done for has been for you... His love for you has driven him to madness."
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY
"And the same goes for his father before him. I have my affect on men. That is my burden to bear."
ADMIRAL KLAUS BLOOM
"If your family finds out you are alive..."
MRS. MARGARET BLACK-BODDY
"Oh, I fully intend to resurrect from the grave. I will hold my boy in my arms and I will eat at that table once more. By the time I am done, Blackwell Grange will be mine, or there will be no Blackwell Grange left at all."
MRS. BLACK-BODDY turns away from ADM. BLOOM and elegantly glides through the woods as easily as she would across a ballroom floor.
13.
INT. HOTEL O'RANGE - COCKTAIL LOUNGE - CONTINUOUS
MR. THALLO GREEN sits in a deep, low club chair. He is slightly intoxicated. He holds up his empty glass as a WAITER pours a small bit of expensive whiskey into it.
WAITER
"Complimentary for our first class patrons."
MR. GREEN sniffs the whiskey and takes a slow sip.
MR. THALLO GREEN
"Oh, this must be what heaven tastes like."
The WAITER smiles.
WAITER
"Shall I pour you some more?"
MR. THALLO GREEN
(happily)
"Please and thank you."
MR. GREEN holds up the glass. The WAITER complies.
WAITER
"Here you are sir. If you need any cigars, the cabinet is unlocked for our first class guests until four o'clock. Complimentary and free. Help yourself."
MR. THALLO GREEN
"There truly is a God! Looks like my uncle was right all along. Thank you, good sir."
MR. GREEN stands up from his deep club chair with a grunt and stumble. He sips down the expensive whiskey, discarding the glass on a random side table on his way over to the CIGAR CABINET.
14.
MR. GREEN opens the door and is greeted by the earthy smell of tobacco. He selects a cigar and smells it. He quickly tucks it into his outer-breast pocket.
MR. DANTE EGRET presently enters the room. He spots MR. GREEN and immediately crosses to him.
MR. THALLO GREEN
(noticing Egret)
"Free cigars. Take a handful."
MR. DANTE EGRET
"I'm not here for the free cigars and liquor, Mr. Green."
MR. EGRET smells the whiskey on MR. GREEN's breath.
MR. THALLO GREEN
"Everything all set for the deal tonight?"
MR. DANTE EGRET
"Yes. Mrs. Greenfield is in the casino right now. She would like to see you over a high stakes poker game. Go freshen up and get changed."
MR. THALLO GREEN
"I showed up to her house on a dirt road with the sweat and Connecticut sun in my face. I ain't changing to impress the fat boar. She already knows what I'm capable of."
MR. EGRET sighs in annoyance.
MR. DANTE EGRET
"Then follow me... unless you need to grab some money."
MR. THALLO GREEN
"No need, I don't plan on losing."
15.
INT. SILVER HOME - DINing ROOM - EVENING
MRS. FRANCINE SILVER enters a honey-pineapple ham on a platter. She puts it down on the table and takes her seat beside FIVEL DOVE.
MRS. SILVER folds her hands on the edge of the table and looks down at her empty plate.
MRS. SILVER pauses for a second and looks up at FIVEL.
MRS. FRANCINE SILVER
"I should like it if you would say grace tonight."
FIVEL raises one eyebrow.
FIVEL DOVE
"What?"
MRS. FRANCINE SILVER
"I think it is time that a meal in this home receives a heartfelt blessing from all who live under it."
FIVEL DOVE
"I... I've never done it."
MRS. FRANCINE SILVER
"Well you've certainly heard me enough times. Haven't you been paying attention? Give it a try."
FIVEL DOVE
"But I don't want to."
MRS. FRANCINE SILVER
"You don't want to? How do you think that makes me feel to hear? I spent hours in the kitchen over this honey roasted ham. The mashed potatoes have homegrown freshly pressed garlic in them."
16.
FIVEL DOVE
(losing his temper)
"Look, I don't know how you grew up or how you were raised but my mother said we don't beg for food... You cooked a good meal. I'm trying my hardest to keep up with all the rules you keep throwing at me, but Mrs. White was perfectly happy with 'Good ham and potatoes, I liked it'. Maybe if you left God out of everything and stopped putting him into every meal and car drive you would have friends."
MRS. FRANCINE SILVER
(extremely hurt)
"Is... is that how you feel?"
FIVEL DOVE
"Your own daughter chose to live in that miserable mansion ten minutes away rather than live with you. Think about it - I'm not here because I want to be. I'm your goddamn hostage."
FIVEL slams his hands on the table as he stands up and runs upstairs.
MRS. SILVER jumps at the sound of the bedroom door slamming. She quickly closes her eyes.
MRS. FRANCINE SILVER
"Dear Lord, please forgive my grandson for taking your name in vain. He is not mad at you, he did it to hurt me. Please help me find a way into his heart."
(pausing)
"And thank you for this wonderful meal and the means and money to prepare it."
MRS. SILVER quietly, solemnly, and sadly slices a piece of ham. She scoops a generous portion of mashed potatoes onto the plate before her. She puts a slice of pineapple, a dinner roll, and some mixed vegetables to the side.
With a discontented sigh, MRS. SILVER stands up and picks up the plate. Exits the DINING ROOM.
17.
INT. SILVER HOME - FIVEL'S BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
MRS. SILVER knocks on the door as she opens it. She immediately drops the plate of food to the floor as she takes in the scene before her...
INT. MEADOw-BROOK HOME - MALCOLM'S BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
MALCOLM MEADOW-BROOK sits on the edge of the bed changing the bandage on his toe. The nail is black and looks infected. He finishes wrapping the new bandaged around it and lays back on the bed with an angry sigh. He covers his face with his hands and begins to cry. His upper right arm throbs and pulses underneath the tightly wrapped gauze.
With the clicking of his door opening, MALCOLM's crying stops as he defensively sits up. MR. MILES MEADOW-BROOK appears in the doorway with a grim look on his face‌.
MALCOLM MEADOW-BROOK
(scared)
"Daddy, I'm sorry."
MR. MEADOW-BROOK holds up his hand.
MR. MILES MEADOW-BROOK
"Son, I love you. I always have and I always will. You are a chip off the old block, you really are. In more ways than I'd like to admit. I've done things in my day I'm not proud of. We all make mistakes."
18.
MALCOLM's shaky, tired eyes begin to soften. He stands up and rushes over to hug his father.
MR. MEADOW-BROOK hugs his son back, kissing him gently on the top of his blond head.
MR. MILES MEADOW-BROOK
"And because I love you, I sometimes have to make painful decisions for your own safety."
MALCOLM tries to loosen his hug from his father but finds MR. MEADOW-BROOK holding him tightly.
MALCOLM MEADOW-BROOK
"Dad?"
MR. MILES MEADOW-BROOK
"Malcolm, you fucked you so badly. You told the neighbors about your sister. Don't you remember our deal? Every Christmas there is no fucking limit - you and your sister get to be spoiled little shits and tear open seven-thousand presents. All we asked was that you stay quiet about that mistake in the attic. That's all."
MALCOLM swallows hard.
MALCOLM MEADOW-BROOK
"Mom knows that I'm gay..."
MR. MILES MEADOW-BROOK
"Malcolm, I don't give two shits if you are gay. My cousin Spencer was gay. My college roommate was gay."
(pausing)
"No, what I care about is your sense of loyalty. You betrayed the family."
MALCOLM MEADOW-BROOK
"I love Jake. If you are okay with me being gay, then you'll accept the fact that he is family too. We can trust them. They accept me. If you do too we can all be a family together."
MR. MILES MEADOW-BROOK
"Oh, Malcolm, I wish it were that simple."
19.
MRS. JANE MEADOW-BROOK enters the room with TWO SOLDIERS.
MRS. JANE MEADOW-BROOK
"Malcolm, it's time to go."
MR. MEADOW-BROOK keeps his grip on MALCOLM and turns him around towards the door. He pushes and releases MALCOLM. The SOLDIERS each take one of his arms as he begins to fight and struggle.
MRS. JANE MEADOW-BROOK
(shouting)
"Stop it, Malcolm! Stop it!"
MRS. MEADOW-BROOK slaps her son.
Both SOLDIER react.
MALCOLM MEADOW-BROOK
(tearfully)
"You see what she does to me?"
MRS. JANE MEADOW-BROOK
"Get him out of my face."
MALCOLM MEADOW-BROOK
"No! Please, no! Dad! DAD!"
The SOLDIERS begin to drag MALCOLM out of his bedroom. He kicks and trashes around. The bandage comes off his toe as the SOLDIERS drag him over the edge of the bedroom's carpet.
INT. MEADOW-BROOK HOME - UPSTAIRS HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS
MALCOLM pushes back against the SOLDIERS, pushing the one on his left arm against the balcony railing. MR. MEADOW-BROOK and MRS. MEADOW-BROOK exit his bedroom.
MRS. MEADOW-BROOK attempts to come close and stop his struggling.
MALCOLM leans back hard and kicks his mother square in the chin with his right foot.
20.
MRS. MEADOW-BROOK falls backwards knocking into a hallway table, pulling it down. Glass candlesticks, a bowl of marbles, and a mirror fall, break, and shatter.
The marbles cause the SOLDIERS to lose their footing.
The broken glass cuts MALCOLM's bare feet.
MR. MILES MEADOW-BROOK
(shouting)
"That's enough."
MR. MEADOW-BROOK grabs MALCOLM by the ear and assists the SOLDIERS in taking him down the staircase.
INT. MEADOW-BROOK HOME - FOYER - conTINUOUS
MALCOLM kicks and screams the entire way down the staircase as MR. MEADOW-BROOK helps the SOLDIERS take him to the front door where an older man waits.
MR. MILES MEADOW-BROOK
"Captain Sky, you've got your work cut out for you."
MALCOLM stops struggling in the presence of the tall, older man. CAPTAIN LEE SKY looks down at MALCOLM and lets out an annoyed, sarcastic laugh.
CAPTAIN LEE SKY
"This one isn't going to be much work at all."
CAPT. SKY motions for the SOLDIERS to take MALCOLM outside. They do with little resistance from MALCOLM.
MALCOLM MEADOW-BROOK
"Wait, my shoes..."
CAPTAIN LEE SKY
"We'll get you some new shoes once we get to Virginia. I'm sure you can handle a driveway..."
21.
INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - RED BEDROOM
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET sits at the vanity in bedroom combing her hair out. She stops to admire her reflection. She takes a red bow and ties up her hair. There is a gentle timid knock at her door.
MISS SCARLET turns to the door. Uncertain of the visitor, MISS SCARLET crosses the room and opens the door to see MISS PEACH standing in the hallway with her hands clasps awkwardly behind her back.
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
"Did I miss the gong for dinner?"
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"No, I uh... dinner isn't ready yet."
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
(slightly annoyed)
"Okay, then what do you need?"
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Well, I don't know. I just... I thought you might want to talk to something..."
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
"Why would I want to talk?"
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"I... I'm not sure. We haven't really gotten to know..."
22.
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
(cutting her off)
"Let me guess, Patricia sent you up here because I told her I want her out of my life."
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Well, no. Not exactly. She actually told me to leave you alone."
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
"Well, for once, Patricia was right."
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Look, I don't know why ya'll hate each other so much. I always dreamed of having a mother. What happened to make you feel this way? I honestly don't get it."
MISS SCARLET puts her hands on her hips.
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
"Do you really want to know?"
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Yes, I do."
MISS SCARLET steps aside and motions for MISS PEACH to come into the bedroom.
MISS PEACH comes in, kicks off her shoes, and plops down on the bed on her stomach. She rests her chin and arms on a random decorative pillow.
MISS SCARLET, caught off guard by MISS PEACH's casualness, slowly sits down on the cushioned bench at the foot of her bed.
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
"When my father died, it was considered an accident. He had heart trouble. His heart medication wasn't working. He was always on something new. He was a doctor and he treated himself like a lab rat. It wasn't his heart that killed him. It was the fall down a staircase during a fight with Patricia."
23.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I had no idea."
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
"Patricia came into me and my father's lives right after my mother died. He was mourning and needed someone. She took advantage of him. They never had anything in common... which explains the fighting that lead to his death."
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Vivienne, I had no idea. I'm sure she meant well, but I can understand how you'd feel if she were to be taking advantage..."
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
(cutting her off)
"If you are about to defend that cunt in front of me, get off of my bed with your clothes that reek of barn shit."
MISS PEACH stands up and puts her shoes back on.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Alrighty, then. I'll see you a dinner?"
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
"No, I'm having Mr. Ash bring me my food in the Conservatory."
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Well, okay. I'll see you around, Vivienne."
MISS VIVIENNE SCARLET
(dismissing her)
"Yep, it's a small house."
INT. HOTEL O'RANGE - CASINO
MR. GREEN and MR. EGRET enter and are met with the roaring sound of laughter, chatter, slot machine's ringing, dice rattling, and the clicking of ice in cocktail glasses. MS. SARAH GREENFIELD and MR. IGOR O'RANGE stand up from the central poker table. BARON MATHIEU BRONZE remains seating, sweating profusely from the brow. MR. GUISEPPE CELEDON is also seated, he doesn't make eye contact with MR. GREEN.
24.
Mr. IGOr O'RANGE
"Have a seat, Mr. Green. It's good to see you."
MR. GREEN straightens his tie and takes out one of the cigars he took from the COCKTAIL LOUNGE. He offers it across the table to MR. O'RANGE.
MR. O'RANGE takes the cigar with a smile. He clips off the end and lights it.
MR. THALLO GREEN
"Mind telling me why you waited till now to show up."
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"I always show up before an important deal goes down."
MS. GREENFIELD stacks her chips from the previous winning round.
The DEALER collects the cards and begins to shuffle.
DEALER
"Fifty dollar buy in."
MR. EGRET makes eye contact with MR. GREEN as they move their chips.
MR. THALLO GREEN
"Ms. Greenfield and I have come to an understanding."
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"Yes, I've heard."
MS. SARAH GREENFIELD
"I am fond of your charisma, Mr. Green. But do not confuse my amusement with loyalty and understanding."
25.
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"You hear that Green? Egret? Ms. Greenfield knows her shit."
MS. SARAH GREENFIELD
"Yes, thank you for your candid analysis, Mr. O'Range. I do, in fact know my shit. I also know when someone is bluffing and when someone is overcompensating."
MR. THALLO GREEN
"Understood."
MS. GREENFIELD slams her right fist on the tabletop.
MS. SARAH GREENFIELD
"No, I don't think you do understand."
MS. GREENFIELD turns her attention to the dealer.
MS. SARAH GREENFIELD
"Carry on, we are just discussing business."
The DEALER begins to pass out the cards.
MS. SARAH GREENFIELD
"I've talked with Mr. Celadon, here."
MS. GREENFIELD looks at MR. GREEN while motioning to his henchman, who make no eye contact whatsoever.
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"He seems to think I killed his twin brother."
MS. SARAH GREENFIELD
"We both know that's not true, Mr. Green. So why bother bluffing."
MR. CELADON's eyes fill with tears as he stares at the King of Diamonds and Ace of Spades in his hand.
MR. THALLO GREEN
(to O'Range)
"Giovanni was going to tell you that I didn't come up with the money."
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"Good for him. Cuz you didn't."
26.
MR. CELADON sets down his cards and stands up.
MR. GUISEPPE CELADON
"You killed my brother..."
MR. THALLO GREEN
"Seppe, listen..."
MR. GUISEPPE CELADON
(shouting)
"You killed my brother and stuffed him in and air duct!"
The DEALER sets down the deck.
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
(to the Dealer)
"Don't stop, keep doing your job... while you have it."
MR. THALLO GREEN
"Look, Giuseppe, we can talk about this."
MR. GUISEPPE CELADON
"I'm done talking to you."
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"Yes sir, he is done with you. Mr. Celadon is now my personal free-lancer. Surely someone of his talents can yield more fruit than your chubby fingers have been able to manage."
MR. THALLO GREEN
"That's not fair. I've done my dirty work."
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"You've brought me nothing. You are only doing this kerosene deal because I lead you here by the hand. Had I not, you would be nosing around Pratton with your dick in a prostitute or your tongue in a journalist's ear."
MR. THALLO GREEN
(joking)
"Kimberly Mango has one hell of an ass, you can't blame me."
27.
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"You think everything is fucking funny? You think everything is a fucking joke? You were in jail. Wearing vertical stripes like a goddamn slave, what the hell kind of town is Pratton, anyway?"
MR. THALLO GREEN
"If it makes you feel any better, I also complained about the prison uniforms."
(addressing the table)
"Did you know, prison uniforms have horizontal stripes to contrast with the vertical cell bars..."
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
(cutting him off)
"Shut the fuck up, Thallo."
The table falls silent.
MR. IGOR O'RANGE
"No one thinks you are funny. No one is on your side. You will play this hand of poker and you will see out the kerosene deal in the basement. After that, change your name, shave your head, lose sixty pounds, and forget every face at this table. If I run into you tomorrow or any day in the future I will shoot you between the eyes without hesitation. Nod if you understand me."
MR. GREEN stares at MR. O'RANGE for several minutes.
MR. THALLO GREEN
"I'm all in."
MR. GREEN sets down his cards and pushes his chips forward. MR. O'RANGE looks down at his hand and then over to MS. GREENFIELD.
MS. SARAH GREENFIELD
"The man has made his choice. Let us all hope he doesn't regret it."
Everyone reveals their cards. MS. GREENFIELD wins the pot.
MS. SARAH GREENFIELD
"I win. How ironic."

EXT. NYC TRAIN STATION - CONTINUOUS
MR. JOSEPH PERSIMMON stands on the corner of an alley watching as DR. WALTER RAVEN waddles out of the train and into a taxi.
MR. PERSIMMON crosses the street and approaches the taxi in time to hear DR. RAVEN say:
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"Take me to Hotel O'Range."
EXT. GRAVEYARD
RUSTY kneels at YVETTE's monument. He is crying into his hands. COL. MUSTARD comes behind him and places a hand tenderly on his shoulder.
MR. RUSTY NAYLOR
"She was like a daughter to me, Mikey."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"I recently found out..."
(pausing)
"You remember Lorraine? The childhood pen-pal I always told you of."
MR. RUSTY NAYLOR
"Of course. She was the passing ship - the love of your life."
29.
COL. MUSTARD cringes at the odd way RUSTY phrased it.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"Yes, well..."
(pausing)
"I recently found out that Yvette was Lorraine's daughter. My daughter."
RUSTY says nothing.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"As you can imagine, I'm beyond myself. I didn't find out until she passed, you see."
MR. RUSTY NAYLOR
(blatantly)
"And you must feel tremendous remorse and disgust too."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
(confused)
"Pardon?"
MR. RUSTY NAYLOR
"For all the sexual comments, advances, and the glares at her exposed bosom. You know that Dr. Black forced her to wear those uniforms?"
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"Are you serious?"
MR. RUSTY NAYLOR
"No, I'm disgusted. And I'm through."
RUSTY stands up and leaves COL. MUSTARD at YVETTE's gravesite alone.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
(to the grave)
"I'm sorry, Yvette. I truly am. I'm a wicked, disgusting man. I know I'll never change, and to be frank, there is no point in changing now. I would have changed for you, had I known. But you're dead. And I'm halfway there. So what's the bloody point."
30.
INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - BILLIARD ROOM - cONTINUOUS
MISS PEACH enters to see MRS. PEACOCK closing the bottle of pills. She is holding a fresh cocktail in her hand.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"I thought you were done drinking."
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"No, you told me you weren't going to make me another. I had Mr. Ash do it."
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"I talked with Vivienne."
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"I figured as much."
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"She told me what happened to her father."
MRS. PEACOCK takes a long sip, half emptying the glass in her hand.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Well, it was an accident. Everyone agrees."
MISS PEACH walks across the room and sits down in a leather armchair beside the sofa MRS. PEACOCK is on.
MISS AMELIA PEACH
"Yes, I get it. The thing is..."
(pausing)
"I had a little accident too. My ex-boyfriend Hunter. He died and it was an accident... but the accident was sort of my fault."
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Amelia... What did you do?"
31.
INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - HALL - conTINUOUS
MRS. WHITE crosses from the KITCHEN to the mail table near the FRONT DOOR. She sees a letter addresses to her and excitedly snatches it.
MRS. WHITE quickly looks around. Once she sees the coast is clear she tears into the envelope and reads the contents.
<<Dearest Blanche, It has been so long since we spoke. Your son Eric. He is well. A doctor in New York City! Oh Blanche, we must meet soon! I hope to hear from you again (signature: Sister Amethyst)>>
MRS. WHITE closes the letter and brings it to her chest. She closes her eyes and sighs with contentment.
MRS. WHITE folds up the letter into the envelope and tucks it into her apron pocket. She struts back towards the KITCHEN.
32.
INT. ORCHID'S TOWNHOUSE - LAB
DR. ANDREA ORCHID turns on a bright lamp and illuminates the room. PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM sees a den-turned-lab before his eyes. Beakers, bottles, herbs, oils, jars, scales, hotplates, and unopened crates greet his eager eyes.
DR. ANDREA ORCHID
"Welcome home."
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"What exactly are we working on?"
DR. ANDREA ORCHID
"How much do you know about cookie making?"
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"Cookie making?"
DR. ANDREA ORCHID
"We are going to provide fortune cookies to the local Chinese restaurant."
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"Fortune cookies?"
DR. ANDREA ORCHID
"Yes."
PROF. PLUM indicates the lab equipment.
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"If we are making cookies, what is all of this?"
DR. ANDREA ORCHID
"Don't be silly, Professor. Cookie making is our front. You'll get good at it, don't get me wrong. But the real fun is for later. For now I need you on the type writer and then I need you clipping fortunes."
33.
INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - BILLIARD ROOM - CONTINUOUS
MRS. PEACOCK sits alone on the sofa with the pain pill bottle open in her hand. She pours out four into her palm. She pops them into her mouth and chases them down with the remainder of her cocktail. She closes the lid on the bottle as COL. MUSTARD enters the room.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"It looks like we've both had a day. Care for a game?"
MRS. PEACOCK points to her foot with a melted icepack limply laying over it.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Does it look like I have a game in me?"
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"No, I suppose not."
COL. MUSTARD grabs a bottle of scotch from the shelf and plops down on the couch next to MRS. PEACOCK.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"So, how was your day?"
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"I buried my daughter today. Didn't know she was mine till she was gone. Don't know how to feel."
COL. MUSTARD opens the scotch and takes a swig. He offers it to MRS. PEACOCK. She takes it and takes a long drink.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Vivienne told me she wants nothing to do with me. I might as well have buried her."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"You'll patch things up. You always do."
34.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"No, not this time. This time is different. This time I don't want her back. I'm done with her and her dramatics. I have a real daughter. We bonded over secrets and sin."
MRS. PEACOCK begins to laugh.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"What's so funny."
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"I'm finally happy, Mike. The day Vivienne tells me to fuck off, I finally feel happy. I'm myself again."
MRS. PEACOCK leans forward and kisses COL. MUSTARD on the lips.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"Patricia!"
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Oh shut up, Mike. You've wanted it since Hugh was inside me. Now it's your turn."
MRS. PEACOCK grabs COL. MUSTARD by the lapels and pulls him close.
COL. MUSTARD grabs the scotch bottle and takes a swig for courage.
MRS. PEACOCK begins to unbutton the front of her blouse.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"You ready?"
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"I am."
COL. MUSTARD pushes his hands past hers and finishes tearing the blouse open. Buttons scatter on the BILLIARD ROOM floor. COL. MUSTARD helps MRS. PEACOCK to her feet and turns her around to the pool table. COL. MUSTARD picks up MRS. PEACOCK and lays her on her back on the pool table. He begins to unbutton his pants.
MRS. PATRICIA PEACOCK
"Mike, oh God! Yes!"
COL. MUSTARD begins to thrust inside of MRS. PEACOCK.
35.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"You've always been beautiful. It's always been you..."
MRS. PEACOCK moans in passion as COL. MUSTARD grabs her legs and begins to roughly pick up the pace. The billiard balls rock back and forth as COL. MUSTARD pushes against the table in sync with MRS. PEACOCK's screams of delight.
