A Clue Saga

INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - KITCHEN - LATE AFTERNOON
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE taps her pen repeatedly against the side of her clipboard. Her beady eyes scan over the page as she bites at her bottom lip.
FRAU OLGA BLOOM is scrubbing her hands at the square, porcelain sink. She flicks the excess water from her flesh back to the sink and grabs a towel.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”You’re certain we have enough vegetable stock? Reggie could always fetch some more.”
FRAU OLGA BLOOM
(drying her hands)
”I already told you, we have more than enough.“
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”That’s the first thing we run out of.”
FRAU OLGA BLOOM
”Mrs. White, you are worrying too much. This party will be perfect.”
2.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
(groaning)
”It will be far from perfect, but I appreciate your optimism.”
FRAU BLOOM tosses the towel into a wicker basket by the back door. She stretches her back and cross the room to the HALL door.
FRAU OLGA BLOOM
”I’m going down to the cellar. Do you need a refill on gin?”
MRS. WHITE pats her hip flask.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”I have my own private reserve stashed away where no one can get it.”
FRAU BLOOM exits the KITCHEN while muttering in German.
FRAU OLGA BLOOM
"Selbstsucht..."
MRS. WHITE begins to look over the shelves of herbs and spices. She makes certain each one is filled to the top. She removes the mason jars that are not topped off and places them on the wooden table.
Once she is finished with the herbs, MRS. WHITE turns to the copper pots and pans hanging above the wooden table. She inspects each one to make sure they were thoroughly washed.

Presently, MR. REGINALD ASH enters the KITCHEN through the DINING ROOM door.
MR. REGINALD ASH
“Sergeant Gray has just arrived.”
MRS. WHITE drops the clipboard loudly on the wooden table, tossing the pen with it. MR. ASH raises an eyebrow at her sudden reaction.
3.
MRS. WHITE closes her eyes and braces herself against the wooden table.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”Thank you, Reggie.”
MR. REGINALD ASH
”Do you need anything?”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”How do you do it, Reggie?”
MR. REGINALD ASH
”I’m not sure what you are referring to.”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”How do you just turn your back on someone you love and let them love their lives without you?”
MR. ASH’s face drops to sad anger.
MR. REGINALD ASH
(voice cracking)
”I still love Mabel.”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
“Then why did you let Ian Masque have her?”
MR. ASH slams his palms against the table in rage. MRS. WHITE jolts.
MR. REGINALD ASH
”Samuel Boddy pursued Mabel, I was nearly beaten to death from the fight. Do you really think I can stand up against Ian Masque and walk away alive? That monster hides in the shadows with his tricks and games. Two different men have shown me that I am nothing. I didn’t turn my back on her. There was just nothing I could do. There is nothing I can do now. I’m only a butler... the money I have saved has been spent in vain to find her and bring her back. There is nothing I can do, Blanche. Our situation is not even comparable.”
4.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”I’m not going to give up. I will let my son know who I am one day.”
MR. REGINALD ASH
”Dr. Black will not allow that.”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”I don't what Dr. Black does or doesn’t allow.”
MR. REGINALD ASH
”Yet you are still his loyal housekeeper.”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”You are loyal. I am just a housekeeper. I serve this house and whoever owns it. My feelings about the owner are moot.”
MRS. WHITE hears a clanking noise from the MEAT LOCKER. She walks over to the freezer door and opens it to see YVETTE standing at the opened secret passage door. She is still very high from the opium she smoked earlier.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
(scolding her)
”We’ve talked about this! Dr. Black is sick and tired of you sneaking around. He’s having the secret passageways sealed up for good. See to it that you aren’t trapped inside.”
YVETTE
(timidly)
”I’m sorry, Mrs. White.”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”And there will be no more smoking with Madame Rose. We don’t need your brain going to rot too.“
5.
YVETTE looks down at her feet with her hands behind her back.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”Go dust the Library and clean the billiard table.”
YVETTE nods obediently and exits the room through the HALL door.
MR. REGINALD ASH
”Perhaps you are being too hard on her?”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”Perhaps everyone else is being too lenient.”
INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - FIVEL’S BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
FIVEL DOVE sits on the edge of his bed while NURSE AVA SILVER washes his scraped leg. She pours disinfectant onto the wound.
FIVEL winces and squirms as the disinfectant hisses and bubbles.
NURSE AVA SILVER
”You need to be more careful.”
FIVEL
”I’m sorry. Please, don’t be mad at me.”
NURSE AVA SILVER
”I’m not mad at you, Fivel. I just want you to be more careful.”
FIVEL
”My mother is going to be mad. She's going to say I did it on purpose to get attention at the party tonight. She thinks every little accident is for attention.
6.
FIVEL (CONT'D)
Everything needs to be perfect all the time...”
NURSE SILVER does‘t respond as she puts away the bandages and disinfectant.
FIVEL
”She’s been mad a lot lately. Madder than usual. I heard her and my new step-father arguing right before I fell. Sometimes I feel like she gets so mad that she doesn't even care about the people she's around. She just wants to win an argument.“
(pause)
”I never see you get mad. You’d make a great mother.“
NURSE SILVER smiles, hiding the tears she is choking back. She runs her fingers through the boy’s blond curls.
NURSE AVA SILVER
”That’s very sweet, Fivel.”
FIVEL
”Why don't you have any children?”
NURSE AVA SILVER
”I suppose I never found the right man to be the father.”
FIVEL
”Why not? Didn't anyone think you were pretty?”
NURSE SILVER turns away as a tear falls from her eye.
NURSE AVA SILVER
(softly; half to herself)
"Not in the ways I wanted them to."
She walks over to his bedroom door and turns to face him.
NURSE AVA SILVER
”I’ve laid out your dinner clothes. Carefully pull your stockings over the bandage.”
FIVEL
”I will.”
7.
NURSE AVA SILVER
”Wait upstairs until your mother comes to get you.”
FIVEL nods. NURSE SILVER exits to the UPSTAIRS HALLWAY.
As soon as the door closes, FIVEL hops up from the bed and rushes to the door. He places his ear against the door and listens as NURSE SILVER's footsteps move farther and farther away.
FIVEL locks the door.
FIVEL
"She's gone."
MISS BRENDA DOVE steps out of his closet.
FIVEL
"Why did you have me say all those things to her?"
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"Don't ask questions, silly boy."
MISS DOVE kisses him on the forehead.
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"You did well."
FIVEL
"Who do I get to mess with next?"
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"Give Mrs. White some busy work. Rough up the house a little. I don't need her nosing into everything."
FIVEL rubs his hands together and laughs maniacally.
8.
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"Don't go too crazy. Easy to clean up annoyances. We still need Hugh to let us live here."
FIVEL
(nodding)
"Yes, mother."
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"You're a good boy, you really are."
FIVEL smiles brightly.
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"Get ready for dinner. I'll come and get you when Hugh is ready."
FIVEL
(with a serious tone)
"There something I think I should tell you..."
MISS BRENDA DOVE
(concerned)
"What is it?"
FIVEL
"I saw a man outside in the rose garden."
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"Sergeant Gray? He's the security that Hugh has hired."
FIVEL shakes his head no. There is fear in his eyes.
MISS BRENDA DOVE
(very worried)
"Fivel, who did you see?"
FIVEL
"Gold is here. He followed us."
MISS DOVE breathes in deeply and exhales slowly. She composes her face and chest, but her hands are still trembling.
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"Okay."
MISS DOVE walks over to the door.
9.
FIVEL
"I'm frightened."
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"It means things are about to get very confusing and very personal."
FIVEL doesn't know what that means.
FIVEL
"Do we have to go back across the ocean?"
MISS BRENDA DOVE
"Not yet."
MISS DOVE exits into the UPSTAIRS HALLWAY.
FIVEL is left alone in his room.
INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - BILLIARD ROOM - CONTINUOUS
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD and PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM are setting up another game of eight-ball.

PROF. PLUM keeps checking his watch every minute or so. COL. MUSTARD notices.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Got someplace to be?”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”Yes, actually. This will probably be my last game.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Tell me about that fiancée of Hugh’s.”
10.
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”There isn’t much to say. She sticks to herself, or gives you a sob story about her past, or antagonizes Mrs. White.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
“I meant about her and Hugh.”
PROF. PLUM takes his turn, pocketing a ball.
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”In what way are you referring?”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”How did a silver fox end up with a prude like her?”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”I try not to think about it too hard. My mind tends to create conspiracies that may or may not be true.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”I’m starting to have a few of my own.”
COL. MUSTARD takes his turn, missing the intended ball.
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”Oh? Humor me with your conspiracies, Colonel.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”What do we know about the Dove family?”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”Not much. When she discusses the past, she tends to stick to the sad, terrible things that have happened to her.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Interesting...”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”What are you thinking?”
11.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”I’m thinking that we need to find out more about her family and if there is another, more sinister reason for their matrimonial plans.”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”You can investigate that at your leisure.“
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”You aren’t interested in knowing?”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”Oh, I am. I just don’t feel like bothering myself to find out. Do let me know what you come up with, though.”
PROF. PLUM takes his turn and sinks two balls into separate pockets.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
(tentative)
“Has Hugh... been alright?”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”Hugh hasn’t been alright in many years. I fear that every year he grows a little darker, a little colder, and less empathetic.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Empathy was never his strongest point.”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”When I first came home to meet my family and the home I missed out on, Hugh treated me like an outcast. He still barely tolerates me. If it weren’t for father insisting that I work on Ben in the crypts, Hugh would have no use for me. Even after father’s death, I’m still here.“
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Do you think that will be changing? With the new wife and stepson, I mean.”
12.
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”Miss Dove doesn't seem too thrilled that Rose has returned home. At any rate, I have my affairs in order when the time comes that I am forced to move out.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”I still can’t save a dime.”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
“Yes, you did always have trouble holding onto money. Speaking of ill-placed funding - how are those memoirs coming along?”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”The stories were bigger in my head. It has become quite a challenge to drag out ten pages of information over thirty chapters.”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”Perhaps there is still adventure out there for you in Africa or Asia. You aren't ready to hang up your hat, are you?”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Those days are long behind me.”
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
“Then that is your choice. On that note, I’m sure you could do a whole chapter on the things you held yourself back from experiencing.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Victor, you are always a blissfully honest pain in my ass. You're a good friend.”
PROF. PLUM hums, pleased with COL. MUSTARD's praise.
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
”I suppose I could let you in on a little gossip...”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"About Miss Dove?"
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"About Fivel."
13.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"The boy?"
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"Have you looked at his eyes?"
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"I have not."
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"Take a look. You might recognize them."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"You have a theory as to who the father is?"
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"I'll talk to you about it once you look at the boy's eyes."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"Or you could tell me now..."
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"It's going to be a long weekend. Humor the theatrics of life."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"Don't you have somewhere to be."
PROF. PLUM checks his watch.
PROFESSOR VICTOR PLUM
"I suppose I should start meandering. Nurse Silver and I need to go over some... things."
PROF. PLUM leaves through the HALL door while humming to himself.

COL. MUSTARD promptly goes over to the bar and pours himself a whiskey. As he downs it, MRS. WHITE enters from the HALL.
14.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
(drunk)
“Have you come to share your kind words?”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”You’ll only get piss and vinegar from me.”
COL. MUSTARD pours himself another and offers her the open bottle. MRS. WHITE shakes her head, taking a long swig from her hip flask full of gin.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”The guests will he arriving over the next few hours. I was just checking to see if Yvette cleaned the pool table. I can see she has not.”
MRS. WHITE grabs a brush from the billiard’s shelf and proceeds to clean chalk dust off the felt.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Have the Ravens arrived yet?”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
(annoyed)
”I just said the guests will be arriving soon.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”Let me know when the get here.”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”Come find them yourself. You aren’t staying tucked away in here alone with all the liquor.”
MRS. WHITE begins to polish pool balls on her apron.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”And there will be no fighting on Monday when Master Boddy comes home.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”If that boy comes at me with an attitude, I’ll break his neck.”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
(pointing at him)
”You’ll behave yourself, Michael Mustard!”
15.
COL. MUSTARD goes to pour himself a third whiskey but MRS. WHITE stops him.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”There will be plenty of time for drinking later. Go to the Lounge. I want the guests to have someone to talk to when they arrive. I suppose you will have to do.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
”What about our benevolent host? Won’t he and his fiance be greeting their guests?”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
”You know Dr. Black likes to make his entrances. He, Miss Dove, and Fivel will enter just before dinner to avoid excessive questioning.”
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
(contritely)
”I did put her on the spot over dinner last night...”
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
“Yes, we were all very embarrassed for you.”
COL. MUSTARD sighs and puts the billiard cue away.
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
"I need a favor."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"No."
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
"Benjamin Gray will be keeping watch."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"I'm not talking to him. His father and I already have... conflicts. I'm not helping you reach out to him."
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
"I just want to know how his life is..."
16.
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"It's none of your business, Mrs. White."
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
"He's my son."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"No, he's not. He's your sister's son. He is Lord Gray's son. You and Dr. Black made choices."
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
"I had no choice."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"Bull shit. You could have taken him and started a new life somewhere. Fuck Hugh and fuck your excuses. You gave him away. He isn't your son."
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
"I was so tired from all the lying and sneaking around..."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"I was tired when I stopped looking for Samuel and Margaret in Africa. It doesn't change the present."
MRS. BLANCHE WHITE
"I wish things could change."
COLONEL MICHAEL MUSTARD
"And I wish my childhood penfriend would have met up for the date we planned for years. She didn't. Life moves on."
INT. LIMOUSINE - LATE AFTERNOON
The black limousine speeds through the stormy New England countryside. There is a dense forest on one side of the road and an open field on the other. MISS OLIVIA RAVEN and her father, DR. WALTER RAVEN sit in the backseat. The DRIVER is silent, keeping a watchful eye on the two through the rear-view mirror.
17.
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
(hatefully)
"She's going to say something about how she stole Hugh from me..."
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"Mrs. Peacock is a bitter woman."
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
"She needs to be stopped."
DR. WALTER RAVEN
"She'll hit a wall one day. People with attitudes like that usually do."
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
"Sooner, rather than later?"
DR. RAVEN laughs sarcastically.
DR. WALTER RAVEN
”Try not to think about her. Just go about your own business.”
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
”It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if she turned up dead. Accidents happen all the time.”
DR. WALTER RAVEN
”If Patricia turned up dead, there would be a celebration throughout the entire nation. But there would also be an investigation unlike any other.”
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
”And if her death was a freak accident?”
18.
DR. WALTER RAVEN
”There is only one man I know who causes perfect little accidents... but he would never harm Patricia.”
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
”What if I talk to him? You know I have a way of convincing certain types of men.”
DR. RAVEN growls something to himself with distain.
DR. WALTER RAVEN
“Yes, and I wish you would keep your poor father uninformed in those regards.”
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
“You didn’t seem to care when I was eighteen and my only use was to pleasure Hugh in every way possible.”
DR. WALTER RAVEN
”It was a different time.”
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
“You forced me to marry him.”
DR. WALTER RAVEN
“I thought he was the best chance for your future. If you bore him children, maybe things would be different.”

MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
“When I was fourteen, about a month or so after mother died, I thought about running away. I thought about how I would survive in the world. Even as a child, I knew sex was the only thing I had to offer that men wanted. So I didn‘t run away. I thought there was a chance that I could be something more. Sometimes I wish I would have left when I was fourteen. Maybe then things could have been different.”
The LIMOUSINE is silent. The DRIVER keeps a stiff lip, pretending he is not eaves dropping and taking everything in.
19.
MiSS OLIVIA RAVEN
”So, who is the man?”
DR. RAVEN does not respond.
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
“The man who makes people disappear...”
Dr. WALTER RAVEN
(laughing)
”He isn’t going to help you.”
MISS OLIVIA RAVEN
”Just tell me who he is. I can figure things out from there.”
DR. WALTER RAVEN
”Alphonse Brunette.”
MISS RAVEN stares out the window contently.
INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - HALL - CONTINUOUS
The doorbell rings boldly beside the front door. No sooner than the bell tolls, does MR. ASH quickly emerge from the DINING ROOM. He tosses his gray apron into the CLOAKROOM as he opens the front door.
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE enters the HALL. His shoulders are damp from the rain. He steps fully into the room, looking up at the magnificent chandelier.
20.
Monsieur alphonse brunette
”If this hall is ever remodeled, I’ll kill the man who commissions it.”
MR. REGINALD ASH
(with gratitude)
”Alphonse, I’m so glad you could get here early.”
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
”Is there somewhere private we can go?”
MR. ASH nods, quickly and quietly leading him to the LIBRARY.
INT. BLACKWELL GRANGE - LIBRARY - cONTINUOUS
M. BRUNETTE enters the room as MR. ASH locks the doors behind them. M. BRUNETTE crosses his arms and follows MR. ASH to the telephone.
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
”Is this a private line?"
MR. REGINALD ASH
”The library, lounge, and hall telephones are all on the same line. Dr. Black's study and master bedroom have the private line."
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
"We need to be quick. If anyone finds out that I am in contact with Manoir Tombale..."
MR. REGINALD ASH
"I know, I know. Let's just do this. I haven't heard from her in so long... I'm aching..."
M. BRUNETTE dials put the phone to his ear and begin to dial a number. MR. ASH wrings his hands together nervously as he waits.
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
"Why do the gray clouds block the azure sky?”
A WOMAN on the other end of the call responds in a frail, gravely voice.
21.
WOMAN
“The black night is still not brightened by rose-gold flames.”
M. BRUNETTE pauses for a moment.
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
”Is she ready?”
WOMAN
”Yes. She's beside me.”
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
"So is he."
M. BRUNETTE lowers the receiver from his ear and hands it to MR. ASH.
MR. ASH's hands shake nervously as he clutches the phone and brings it to his ear.
MR. REGINALD ASH
"Mabel?"
MS. MABEL ASH
"Reggie?"
MR. REGINALD ASH
(choking up)
"Oh God! Mabel, what have they done to you."
MS. MABEL ASH
(sweetly)
"I can't remember much, but I still have the love I had for you... when we met... when we were wed..."
MR. REGINALD ASH
"Oh thank God! Mabel, I will come save you."
22.
MS. MABEL ASH
"There is no escaping his snowy mountaintop. I'm here to marry him - Mr. Masque. Doctors, psychologists, herbalist, psychics, and hypnotists have all been chipping away at my brain. They are trying to rewrite my life."
MR. REGINALD ASH
(crying)
"I will free you."
MS. MABEL ASH
"Reggie, sweet love of my life. They are winning. I can't even remember who my parents were."
MR. ASH sniffles, taking a moment.
MR. REGINALD ASH
(desperately)
"How can I save you? How do I get inside? Let me know what to do?"
M. BRUNETTE closes his eyes sympathetically and shakes his head.
MS. MABEL ASH
"Reggie, you need to let me go. Save yourself the pain. Before I turn into someone you don't recognize."
MR. REGINALD ASH
"No! I can figure something out. Anything! Please!"
MS. MABEL ASH
"So few people get to say goodbye... I guess we are the lucky ones."
MR. ASH grips the phone tightly with one hand and the writing desk with the other. Tears are streaming down his worn-out, tired, lonely face.
MR. REGINALD ASH
(composing himself)
"Mabel, I love you."
MS. MABEL ASH
(sincerely)
"I love you so much, Reginald Ash."
23.
MR. REGINALD ASH
(closing his eyes)
"I can't say goodbye..."
MS. MABEL ASH
"Then instead of a goodbye, a promise?"
MR. REGINALD ASH
(breathlessly)
"Anything."
MS. MABEL ASH
"Promise me that you'll take care of yourself. Do good. Be the good in this world. Don't let the wicked men of this world make you into men like them. Don't let go of yourself..."
MR. REGINALD ASH
"Mabel..."
MR. ASH hears some commotion in the background of the telephone call. Suddenly there is a click and the conversation is over. He slowly opens his eyes and looks up at M. BRUNETTE.
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
"I am sorry."
MR. REGINALD ASH
"There has to be something we can do."
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
"Manoir Tombale may be dark on the inside, but you can't sneak in unnoticed. There is a long gondola ride up the side of the mountain. Everything is blindingly white from the snow, and we don't know where she is being kept."
MR. REGINALD ASH
(anxiously)
"I could have asked her all of that. Call her again."
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
"Ms. Crabtree told me when we arranged this phone call that it was going to be the final one."
24.
MR. REGINALD ASH
"Please, Alphonse, she's my wife. I can't sit around while some other man fucks her."
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
"I hate to break it to you, but that ship has sailed and sunk."
MR. REGINALD ASH
"Instead of taunting me, help me!"
MONSIEUR ALPHONSE BRUNETTE
"I can't do anything. Stop getting angry with me."
M. BRUNETTE shakes his head at MR. ASH and leaves the LIBRARY.
MR. ASH stands by the writing desk and sighs deeply.
MR. REGINALD ASH
"I will set you free."
